INFORMATION ABOUT BRC

BRC Productions began out of a hobby of listening to radio and collecting audio recordings of old radio programs and "airchecks," or recordings made off the radio. Bob Burnham began his venture into this area in about 1969. To offset the cost of blank recording tape, he began a small business of selling copies of his recordings. Early lists bear the head "Bob's Recording Collection," also known as "Bob's Radio Company." Soon this was shortened to "BRC." By the mid 1970s, the foundation was established for the multi-faceted business that is alive and well today.

Old-time radio and classic videos were the foundation of the business for many years. Today, however, a variety of professional services to the broadcast and recording industry are provided. This ranges from production and distribution of syndicated talk shows to technical maintenance, studio design and construction and remote broadcast services to area radio stations and studios.

By the end of the 1990s, only video products were offered. The old-time radio products were temporarily phased out due in part to the need of converting the products to a digital format as well as time constraints and changing market conditions all related to drastic expansion of the professional services. In 2001, BRC published the third edition of it's Technical Guide to Old-time Radio and in 2003, resumed it's old-time radio audio catalog, focusing on "DIGITAL RE-MASTERS" featuring radio shows processed with new studio tools.

We are grateful to those of you who have welcomed us "back," however, WE NEVER LEFT!
